How can I sign up to recieve e-mails from the Lodge ?

Our e-mailing system is the quick communication from the Lodge to its members. Dubbed "Monaken2," this e-mail system was created in response to the Lodge's original communication system "The Monaken E-Mailing." Monaken2 is meant to give its members updates on Lodge Weekends, Committee Updates, Lodge Updates, or important Council Updates. We do not use our e-mailing system to send spam or unwanted e-mails to its subscribers.

When you pay your dues, there is a space left for you to place your e-mail address. You can also subscribe to the Monaken2 system by e-mailing monaken.subscribe@oamonaken.org with your name and e-mail address in the body of the e-mail. You can easily unsubscribe to the Monaken2 by e-mailing monaken.unsubscribe@oamonaken.org with your name and e-mail address in the body of the e-mail.

Monaken Lodge will not give out your e-mail address to anyone. We value your privacy and will not use your e-mail address for any purpose except those stated above. If you have any questions about our Monaken2 e-mailing system, please e-mail monaken.questions@oamonaken.org.

 

Why is many committee's email address listed as monaken@oamonaken.org?

Due to Boy Scout of America Youth Protection Guidelines, the Lodge is unable to list the contact infomation for youth chairman. The only time we may publish the contact information is if we have the Signed Permission of the Scout's parent. However, the monaken@oamonaken.org is a general email account in which you can send emails to the committees which will be forwarded to the committee.

 

Question asked to the Northeast Region:

When will Venturers be allowed to hold elections for the Order of the Arrow if ever? What is stopping Venturing from creating their own "OA"?

Venture Scouts are presently not allowed to hold elections for membership in the Order of the Arrow. Only Boy Scout troops and Varsity teams may elect members into the Order.
