All Ordeal members who have had their Ordeal for at least 10 months are invited to take their Brotherhood at the Fall Ordeal August 22-24.
Attention Ordeal Members:
If you are interested in sealing your membership by becoming a
Brotherhood member of our lodge, be sure to complete the following
requirements and attend either the Spring, Fall, or Woodchuck Ordeals.
Here are the requirements for the Brotherhood Ordeal:
1. You must have the Ordeal Membership for a period of ten months.
2. You must memorize the Obligation, Admonition, and the Song.
3. You must write a letter to the Brotherhood Committee that
explains
what you think the obligation means to you and also how becoming a
Brotherhood member will help you help the lodge. The letter doesn't
have to be long, just close to a page in length. (bring this letter to
the ordeal and have it ready to hand in at registration)
4. Carve a walking stick that is a minimum of three feet in length
with your name, WWW, and Monaken 103 on it. (be sure to bring to the
ordeal)
5. Complete the Brotherhood hike as well as the Brotherhood
ceremony
at the Ordeal. (this will be completed at the ordeal)
6. You must have current up-to-date dues in the Order of the Arrow and
through the Council.
If you have any questions about becoming a Brotherhood member, or if
you are currently a Brotherhood member and would like to help with the
Brotherhood Hike, feel free to email me at
monaken@oamonaken.org. I am
looking forward to seeing you at the Spring Ordeal.
